Web Special - Cost Price! Sandalford Premium Margaret River Chardonnay

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

(Margaret River, WA)Sandalford is more renowned for their Swan Valley cellar door these days, yet its premium Margaret River wines are where the quality shines through.Sourced from a 20yr old Wilyabrup vineyard, this Chardonnay was treated like royalty in the winery – Fine French oak and hands on winemaking only enhancing very fine old vine fruit. The vintage itself also contributes to the strength of this white, with early season cool weather helping the acid development & a burst of heat in late January leading to healthy, full flavoured ripe & delicious grapes.Typically complex and involving in style, this Chardonnay has a big, rich nose of ripe figs, vanilla and floral yeast. This follows to a medium bodied palate of classical nutty, nougatty characters typical of fine Margaret River Chardonnay and backed by enough acidity to ensure even more interesting development with a little time in the cellar.
