Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

i>VariousRose is on the rise. It’s everywhere. So many wineries have jumped on the pink bandwagon, and for a very good reason - Rose is almost perfect for the Australian summer lifestyle.A good Rose combines bright ripe red fruit flavours of typical Australian red with the crisp, dry and light backbone of youthful Australian white wines. The overall effect is light, playful and impossible to put down. Just try it. On a warm summer day, eating BBQ seafood in the sun, and a glass of Rose becomes a bottle..Too easy!

LONG FLAT WHITE SHIRAZ 2004

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

Swan Hill, VicA White Shiraz? What the?…Think of this modern wine as a rose by any other name. To produce a white Shiraz (which is really a pink Shiraz in this case), the grapes are crushed and quickly sperated from their skins and seeds. This leaves a bright, fruity pink wine, with no tannins and boatloads of delicious ripe & juicy flavours.By stopping the fermentation proces slightly early, natural sugars are retained leaving this wine soft, fruity and slightly off dry.A very friendly rose, drink this wine with home made red curry chicken.
